Woman arrested near Brownwood with meth concealed in contact lens case

A Sumter County Sheriff’s Office K-9 assisted in the arrest Thursday of a 36-year-old woman on a methamphetamine charge on State Road 44 near Brownwood.

Jessica Colleen Hoover of Inverness was stopped at 6:29 p.m. on SR 44 at Buena Vista Boulevard.

A narcotics K-9 named Mace alerted on her vehicle, according to an arrest report from the sheriff’s office. During a search of her vehicle, a deputy discovered a contact lens case containing methamphetamine.

Hoover was arrested on a felony drug charge. She was booked on $2,000 bond at the Sumter County Detention Center.
