Man arrested earlier this year at Wal-Mart, back in jail for skipping court date

A man arrested earlier this year for shoplifting at the Wal-Mart at Buffalo Ridge Plaza is back behind bars for skipping a court date.

Kenneth Wayne Bowers, 25, of Belleview had been arrested in January after he allegedly attempted to take a Turtle Wax car care kit, a Better Homes comforter and a DVD.

He had been free on bond.

He was booked Friday at the Sumter County Detention Center on a warrant charging him with failure to appear. He was booked without bond.
