Lady Lake man ticketed after rear-ending school bus carrying 36 students

A Lady Lake man was ticketed after rear-ending a school bus carrying 36 students Thursday afternoon on U.S. Hwy. 441 in Marion County.

Three students suffered minor injuries and were transported to a local hospital after the accident occurred at 4:50 p.m. on U.S. Hwy. 441 at SE 92nd Place Road, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

Nicholas J. Beaver , 22, had been at the wheel of a 2012 Mazda that rear-ended the school bus driven by Alpha E. Franklin, 58, of Ocala. Beaver escaped injury. The bus had been southbound and had stopped for a red light. He was cited for careless driving.
