Jean Simmons passed away early Saturday morning, July 18, 2015 at the age of 86, in The Villages, Florida, where she has lived for the last two years. Jean was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, where she met her beloved husband, Bill Simmons. They were married for 50 years and raised two daughters. Dr. Debra Simmons and her husband, Dr. Douglas Bartley, reside in White Post, Virginia and Sandra Simmons and her husband, John Gray, reside in The Villages, Florida. Jean is often described as the definitive “Great Lady of the South” and travelled extensively, both domestically and internationally, throughout the last two decades. Jean Simmons will soon make her final trip to rest beside her husband in Texas, who has been anxiously awaiting their reunion since his death in 1998. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends who remain behind.
