20-year-old woman killed on I-75 in Sumter County

A 20-year-old from St. Petersburg was killed when she was struck by a car at 10:32 p.m. Sunday on Interstate 75 in Sumter County.

 

Brittany Nicole Bailey was standing near a disabled vehicle when she was struck by a car driven by Alfonza Scott Singleton, 44, of Windmere.

 

A report from the Florida Highway Patrol indicates Singleton was unable to see Bailey.

 

She died at the scene of the accident, according to the FHP report.
