91-year-old driver killed in Marion County traffic accident

A 91-year-old Ocala man was killed in a Marion County traffic accident that occurred at 6:15 p.m. Monday.

A vehicle driven by James Samuel Barzey collided with a vehicle driven by David H. Rasnick, 42, also of Ocala on County Road 464 at Pine Road in Marion County, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.

Barzey was transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.

Rasnick and a passenger in his vehicle, 37-year-old Benjamin Adams, also of Ocala, suffered minor injuries, according to the FHP report.

A third vehicle was involved in the crash in a minor way and the driver of that vehicle stopped to render aid to the occupants of the other two vehicles, according to the FHP report. The driver of the third vehicle was identified as 44-year-old Carlos Manuel Arroyo Fuentes of Ocala.

The crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
