To the Editor:
On Friday, Oct. 17 I inadvertently removed my blue topaz ring from my right hand while cleaning my hands after having a sub at the Publix at Colony Plaza. Fortunately, some kind person turned it into the customer service desk at Publix. The person did not leave their name. While the ring has a substantial monetary value, the ring has a hugely sentimental value attached to it having been purchased during the cruise of a lifetime around South America by my spouse.
As we were driving back to Publix once I realized that I had lost the ring I kept saying to myself that the ring is only a material good and that in the last few years we have lost family members far too soon and that was more important than the ring. I now have a ring guard. If the person who turned the ring into Publix identifies themselves I will make a nice donation to the charity of their choice.
Once again thank you.
