Wildwood man arrested New Year’s Eve on DUI charge

A 48-year-old Wildwood man was arrested New Year’s Eve on a charge of driving under the influence following an accident.

David Marcao Ubiles was arrested following the accident at 10:40 p.m. on County Road 230, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

The deputy suspected Ubiles had been drinking. Ubiles failed field sobriety exercises.

He was transported to the Sumter County Detention Center where he refused to submit to breath test.

He was booked on charges of driving under the influence and failure to submit to a DUI breath test.

Bond was set at $1,000.
