Schools locked down in Ocala in search for armed robbers

Ocala police are looking for two black males who robbed the Dollar General located at located at 2195 NW 10the St. in Ocala.

The robbery was called into law enforcement shortly before 11 a.m. Tuesday. The pair, who had been armed, had fled the store before the officers arrived.

A perimeter was immediately established and a K-9 Unit and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office helicopter was called in.  Howard Middle School and Madison Street Elementary School were briefly put on lockdown.

The suspects are described as two black males, under the age of 20, robbed the store at gunpoint.  One was in a red/orange long sleeved shirt and cap  and one was dressed a black/dark blue hoodie with white stripes.  Both wore dark pants and had their faces covered. Black handguns were displayed by both suspects and money was demanded.  No one was harmed and the suspects fled from the store with an undetermined amount of money.
