Snowbird treated at hospital after scuffle sparked by ‘road rage’ incident

A 75-year-old snowbird from New York was treated for scrapes and bruises to his knees and arms and a bruise to the head after a scuffle erupting as the result of a “road rage” incident.

The snowbird had been traveling in his golf cart at Del Mar Drive and Avenida Central when he encountered a 53-year-old Villager driving a Kia Soul, according to an incident report from the Lady Lake Police Department. A disagreement occurred and the snowbird “intentionally kicked the driver’s door” of the Kia, the report indicated. The Kia driver then tackled the snowbird and he fell to the ground, suffering the injuries. The snowbird was transported by Lake EMS to the hospital. Both men signed waivers of prosecution.
