CDD 3 gets a little sticker shock when price for tunnel restoration doubles

Community Development District 3 supervisors got a little sticker shock when they learned a tunnel restoration project will cost twice as much as originally believed.

The original estimate was $26,000 for stucco restoration of Tunnel B-7 based on previous projects at tunnels B5 and B6. Turns out the price will be $53,525.

The bid is being awarded to G&G Construction of Marion County Inc.

Tunnel B-7 is located near Saddlebrook Recreation Center.
