Gates in The Villages

To the Editor:

The Villages is not a gated community, but rather a community with gates. Their real purpose is to slow down traffic, not to keep people from entering the community. Bailey Trail is a good example. Especially from January through April the people who are turning left on Bailey towards Buena Vista would never be able to get out if not for the gates somewhat slowing down traffic. I’m all for them remaining just as they are!
