Richard ‘Dick’ Goggin

Richard (Dick) Goggin, 85, of The Villages, FL, passed away at Cornerstone Hospice on December 7, 2017 surrounded by family.Richard was born in Brighton, Massachusetts,  on January 27, 1932 to Harold and Linda (Beltram) Goggin.

He graduated from Watertown High School in 1950 where he was a superb athlete in all sports. He was drafted by the New York Yankees. Later he served in Korea during the final push and patrolled the demilitarized zone.

He lived in Massachusetts for many years where he raised his family and was a business owner and real estate broker.

He and Carol wintered in St. Augustine, Florida for twelve years and decided to move to The Villages, FL, permanently in 2006 where he played many rounds of golf. He was an avid lover of animals and wouldn’t even hurt a fly.  He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and a deeply religious Roman Catholic.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 54 years, Carol, his daughter, Christine White, grandsons Richard and Thomas and ex-son-in-law Bruce all of North Attleboro.

Services will be announced at a later time at Florida National Cemetery.
