Ocala woman arrested on DUI charge after running red light in traffic crash

Rebecca Joann Forsyth

An Ocala woman was arrested on a drunk driving charge after running red light in traffic crash.

Rebecca Joann Forsyth, 30, had been at the wheel of a 2017 white Ford Fusion that went through a red light at NE 25th Avenue and East State Road in Ocala.

A police officer suspected Forsyth had been drinking, and when the officer asked Forsyth how much she’d had to drink, she replied, “I’d rather not talk about that.”

When the officer indicated that the odor of alcohol had been detected, she claimed an unopened wine bottle had broken open in the crash.

She refused to participate in field sobriety exercises and would not provide a breath sample.

She was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence and booked at the Marion County Jail.
