Neighbor squirts woman and her son in face with hose during verbal dispute

An argument Tuesday between neighbors resulted in a woman and her son being sprayed in the face by a garden hose.

According to a Marion County Sheriff’s report, the neighbors got in a confrontation in the 10100 block of NW 21st Street in Ocala when a woman and her son leaned on a fence separating the two houses. The woman claimed that her neighbor screamed at them “to get off the fence,” a sheriff’s office report states.

After the man sprayed the woman and her son with the hose, he approached the son and “got into his face and began to be highly verbal with him,” the report states.

The three separated when a deputy arrived. The woman insisted that her neighbor be arrested, so the deputy placed him in handcuffs. She immediately changed her mind and the man was released, the report says.

The deputy referred the victims to the state attorney’s office if they wished to pursue further action.
