Nearly 6,000 lose power due to problems at SECO substations

Nearly 6,000 customers were without power Monday morning after problems at two SECO Energy substations.

SECO reported that  3,591 members served by the Lake Ella substation were experiencing a service interruption. In addition, 2,235 members served by a feeder from the Continental substation are experiencing an outage.

At 4:23 p.m., the Villages substation feeder experienced a brief service interruption. The cause was an underground cable connection failure. Service was restored in just eight minutes.
