Woman promises to bring Spruce Creek South man a beer but instead steals his debit card

A Spruce Creek South man called a Marion County sheriff’s deputy Monday after a woman went to get him a beer and instead stole his debit card out of his wallet.

When the deputy arrived at the home in the 10300 block of SE 175th Place, the man said his roommate let the woman into their home around 1 a.m. Sunday morning. The man said he was sitting with the woman in his bedroom when she offered to get him a beer from the kitchen. But when she didn’t return, the man said he attached his prosthetic leg and went to investigate, a sheriff’s office report says.

The man told the deputy that when he went into the kitchen, he noticed the woman had left, his wallet was open on the counter and his debit card was missing.
