A shoplifting suspect with drugs was arrested at Belk at La Plaza Grande in The Villages.

William David Pintado, 40, of Leesburg on Thursday afternoon entered the store and went to the men’s fragrance area, where he selected three bottles, removed the security barcodes and concealed the bottles in his the pockets of his pants, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. He was detained by the store’s loss prevention officer.

An officer search Pintado and not only found all three fragrance bottles, but also discovered a Camel cigarette pack.The pack contained a rolled up dollar bill, a cut straw and two pills, one of which was determined to be morphine sulfate.

Pintado was arrested on charges of retail theft and possession of a controlled substance. He was booked at the Lake County Jail on $2,500 bond.
