81-year-old Villager driving golf cart and her passenger injured in collision with car

An 81-year-old Villager in a golf cart and her 88-year-old passenger were injured Wednesday afternoon in a collision with a car.

Dawn Brooks Ghizzonitrammell had been driving a blue Yamaha golf cart at 3:35 p.m. on Bichara Boulevard at Avenida Central near La Plaza Grande shopping center when she pulled into the path of a white 2015 Kia Optima, driven by 28-year-old Patricia Danielle Stahl, of Ocala, according to an accident report from the Lady Lake Police Department. Her vehicle struck the passenger side of the golf cart.

Emergency personnel tend to the occupants of the golf cart after the collision Wednesday in The Villages.

The golf cart’s owner, 88-year-old Larry Conrad Richards, who lives on the Historic Side of The Villages, had been riding as a passenger. He and Ghizzonitrammell were transported by ambulance to The Villages Regional Hospital.

Stahl and a seven-year-old passenger escaped injury.

Ghizzonitrammell was ticketed on a charge of careless driving.
