Homeowner in The Villages ordered to take down fence in violation of deed compliance

A homeowner in The Villages will face fines if a fence is not taken down at their residence.

The home of John Baker and Kelly Williams, at 17984 SE 91st Poplar Terrace in the Village of Springdale, was the subject of a public hearing Friday afternoon before the Community Development District 4 Board of Supervisors.

The fence was put up around the home’s air conditioning unit.

This fence will have to come down in the Village of Springdale.

“The fencing has been in place for the past three owners and our next door neighbor has decided to give my husband and I nothing but trouble for the past six months,” Williams wrote in a retroactive application submitted to the Architectural Review Committee.

The application was considered at Wednesday’s ARC meeting. It was denied.

“It was obviously put in by the homeowner because it’s the sloppiest job I have ever seen,” CDD 4 Supervisor Cliff Wiener said.

The homeowners have seven days to take down the fence. If not, the couple could face a series of fines.

The homeowner sought retroactive approval for the fence from the ARC.
