Bandit sought after ripping off Villages Winn-Dixie for $250 in groceries

Wildwood police officers are looking for a bandit who hit a Villages grocery store recently.

Wildwood Police officers are looking for the man pictured above, who is accused of stealing $250 worth of groceries from the Winn-Dixie on Burnsed Blvd. in The Villages recently.

Police say the man, pictured above, entered the Winn-Dixie at 2500 Burnsed Blvd. and walked through the store while filling his shopping cart with $250 worth of groceries. He then left the store without paying for the items, a police report states.

The man, who was captured on video surveillance footage, was described as a large black male wearing a white shirt, a camouflage-colored desert sun hat and a chain around his neck. Anyone with information about the man or the crime is asked to contact Detective David Clarkson at the Wildwood Police Department at (352) 661-6908 or Crime Line at 1-800-423 TIPS (8477).
