Village of Country Club Hills man jailed on drug charges for second time in a year

Ryan Stewart Ledoux

A Village of Country Club Hills man has been jailed on drug charges for the second time in a year.

Ryan Stewart Ledoux, 24, had been traveling in a blue pickup truck at 2:33 p.m. Friday eastbound on County Road 466A west of Buena Vista Boulevard when a Sumter County sheriff’s deputy noticed he wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.

“I didn’t realize I didn’t have it on,” Ledoux told the deputy.

He provided the deputy with his driver’s license and the truck’s registration, but did not have proof of insurance. A K-9 unit arrived on the scene and the dog alerted on the pickup. Marijuana was discovered inside the vehicle, along with a glass pipe that tested positive for the residue of marijuana.

The Virginia native was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug equipment. He was cited for having no proof of insurance and issued a warning for the seatbelt violation.

He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $1,000 bond.

Ledoux had been arrested this past October after a K-9 alerted on his truck and a subsequent search turned up marijuana and a grinder.
