Motorcyclist in possession of drugs arrested at Circle K in Wildwood

A motorcyclist in possession of drugs was arrested at a Circle K in Wildwood.

Loren Edward Burckard III, 34, of Wildwood, was riding a black Yamaha motorcycle at about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday when he pulled into the Circle K at 1001 S. Main St., according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

A deputy ran the license plate on the motorcycle and discovered the plate was expired and belonged on a trailer. Burckard admitted he did not have a valid driver’s license. He was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, fentanyl and marijuana.

Burckard, who has a long criminal history, was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, driving while license suspended and failure to register a motor vehicle. He was taken into custody and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on $8,500 bond.
