A Marion County sheriff’s deputy was called to The Club Health & Rehabilitation Center at Mulberry Grove in The Villages last week after an employee realized her license plate was missing from her vehicle.
When the deputy arrived at the rehab center, located at 16529 SE 86th Belle Meade Circle, a 31-year old employee told him that she wasn’t sure of the last time she had seen the license plate on her gray 2011 Dodge Durango.
But she said she parked it at the medical facility on Thursday and after getting off work around 5 p.m., she drove to a nearby Circle K minimart on SE Hwy. 42 and then to her home in Wildwood. She said she then picked up her two daughters and as she was walking toward her vehicle after a shopping trip, she noticed the tag was missing.
The deputy entered the license tag and sticker, valued at $36, as stolen in his computer system, the report says.
Thursday’s incident isn’t the first time Marion County sheriff’s deputies have been called to The Club Health & Rehabilitation Center. In February 2018, a 75-year-old Villager who was staying at the facility reported money missing from her room. In September 2017, the center was locked down after a threat involving a gun. In June 2017, a deputy was asked to document a “wrestling match” between a patient and another person. And in December 2016, a 75-year-old patient claimed money was taken from his wallet.
